This is a superb piece for any one who wants a rural piece with out going as far as a butchers Meat chopping block, the superb beech top is made from 3” thick planks and has steel bound corners and was originally used for slicing

The base has been raised in height presumably, for a very tall butcher but it would be simple enough to return it to its original height, this sturdy base is made in pine and it would make a superb rustic farmhouse kitchen island as it looks the same from all sides
