~ French - Circa 1870 ~
~~ Excellent condition ~~
A very large and finely modelled clock in the style of Louis XVI.
It is classically styled, boldly modelled with acanthus leaves, blind fretted front and surmounted by a large urn with masks. It is a particularly well modelled clock, heavy and of high quality, it will require a strong mantle or side table to stand on.

The dial is the particularly sought after cream with blue lettering and is complete with hand made blued steel hands. It is covered by thick, convex bevelled glass mounted in a heavy bezel.
The French Japy Freres movement is of the highest quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the movie below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition, just a faint hairline. This is a large and majestic clock that will make a grand focal point for your room.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
