Victorian Mahogany Bureau with Secret Drawer

19th century
Description

A magnificent antique Victorian mahogany bureau on cabriole legs dating from circa 1850. With fall front, pigeon hole and split pillar interior, over one long and two small drawers with brass plate drop handles. Standing on elegant cabriole legs with shell carved knees. The interior cupboard slides out to reveal 3 secret drawers. Interior cupboard and fall both lock and come with key. Key for drawers does not work – decoration only.

Construction/Wood:

Mahogany, oak lined drawers

Condition Report:

Marks and scuffs commensurate with age. Some small splits to the either side of the fall which have old mends (see photos) some slight damage to edges of fall at top. Solid and sturdy with good patina.

Depth at Top: 9.5 inches

Depth at Drawers: 19 inches

Height to Fall: 32 inches

Height to Top: 40 inches
