Small Walnut Bureau - Writing Desk

1900 - 1920
Description

A magnificent small vintage walnut bureau dating from circa 1920s. Having fall front with fitted interior over two long drawers, on cabriole legs with pad feet. It has a shaped top and shell carved knees. To the interior are six shaped pigeon holes with one small drawer. Comes with working locks and key (all locks work).

Construction/Wood:

Walnut veneers, walnut, mahogany and plywood

Condition Report:

Good patina to walnut veneers. Leather writing surface to interior is missing – now just recessed wood, but looks fine. Split at base near leg – an old mend, but sturdy and solid.

Width: 27 inches

Depth at Top: 9 inches

Depth at Drawers: 17 inches

Height to top: 39 inches

Height to Fall: 31 inches
