Very impressive large antique Victorian chest of drawers in mahogany, with a small cupboard incorporated within it. It has a solid mahogany top, below which are two small drawers either side of the panelled cupboard. The cupboard has a lock & key. Below this are three more drawers which are graduated in depth. All the drawers have the original large turned mahogany handles. They also have very fine dovetails & run smoothly. There are locks in the drawers, but I doubt if that key in the cupboard works those too. This chest is wonderful quality & is in very good original condition. I would say it dates to around the 1860's period. It's also a very compact piece, with great proportions, because it's quite high & slim from back to front.
