Description

A Meiji Period Japanese Satsuma hexagonal tea canister and lid. Of unusual form this hexagonal tea canister with a circular lid with gilded and enamelled detail, an internal porcelain lid and the body with individual gilded enamelled and hand painted detail, depicting Japanese interior scenes and winter outdoor scenes. Japan circa 1880-1900

Dimensions: 4.5" high x 4" diameter

Condition: This tea canister is in excellent original condition, no damage but extremely minor fritting to the base (see pictures)
