Gents 1940s Smiths Astral Wrist Watch

1920 - 1940
Description

A gents 1940s Smiths Astral wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is stamped Made in England.

The watch measures 31.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is plated and the condition is good for its age with just minor surface marks. The snap-on case back is stainless steel.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed Smiths Astral, 15 Jewels, Made in England. There is some age related discolouration to the dial but all very acceptable for a 1940s piece.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
