Description

A rarer example of a 'Royal Polytechnic' Admiral Fitzroy barometer. An oak case with chamfered mouldings and carved detailing. The original silvered 'remarks' weather forecasting details in good condition. Twin thermometers in Farenheit and Centigrade. Twin vernier adjusters to the main dial with large bore mercury tube. Circa 1885.

Made by Joseph Davis & Co, London who were sole makers of these interesting instruments. Height 40 " / 103 cms Width 12" / 32cms
