Vintage 1950s Bifora Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A 1950s Bifora wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. It is a smaller gents watch which would suit a slim wrist, or it could be worn by a lady. The case is gold plated and there is the odd mark but overall the condition is very acceptable for a 1950s piece. The stainless steel screw-on case back states that the watch is water protected but, as with any vintage watch, this should not be relied upon.

The lens is in good condition.

The black dial has charming vintage appeal with a textured centre, with ridges as seen on a vinyl LP. The hands are the originals; the infill has darkened with age and some has fallen out. There is also a centre seconds hand.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
