Atropos Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
This cabinet is of the very highest quality and is constructed of solid mahogany throughout. The finish and patina is beautiful and the 20 drawers run smoothly on hidden bearer runners.the mahogany is superbly figured and in very fine undamaged condition.
Each drawer has a maple inset bearing the number of the drawer. All original glass is present and the glazed frame tops fit perfectly.

Originally built for use as an entomological cabinet this excellent example will serve a multitude of collecting pursuits. The drawers are somewhat deeper than usual offering more space or if used again as an entomological cabinet full length continental pins will be more than adequately accommodated.

The drawers are white paper lined with a layer of cork to the base. If required we are able to re-paper to the very highest standard for the buyer.
