French Armchair by Krieger of Paris C.1890.

Description

Elegant late 19th.c. French low back sofa and single armchair c.1890 by the celebrated Maison Krieger of Paris, the biggest of the city’s furniture makers at the time. Slim carved wooden frame and reeded legs. Later over painting in a pale duck egg blue/grey with gilded detail and upholstered in a woven patterned silk. With wear to the seat of the armchair, otherwise excellent condition. With a stenciled mark for Krieger to the underside of the armchair.

Dimensions: Armchair width 27", depth 22", height 32".
