Gents 1930s Lunox wrist watch

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Rado Watch Co. We are not aware of any connection between Lunox and Rado which either suggests that Lunox bought the movement in or it is a later replacement movement.

The watch measures 32.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown. The case has a very unusual design and would have been regarded as very modern in the 1930s. It is a plated case which does have some marks and signs of wear as you would expect in a plated watch from this era. The case back has a lot of marks and scratches.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed Lunox, AntiMagnetic, Swiss. It has a good vintage look with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. There is a little discolouration to the dial but all very acceptable for such an early.

A later black leather strap has been fitted.
