Antique English Oak & Brass Wire Letter Holder C.1900

Description

A charming little late Victorian letter rack or holder, a neat small size, perfect for collecting all those little receipts, tickets and bits and bobs we all have lying round.

Made for wall-hanging, the back is made from solid Oak with a brass hanging bracket. The front is made from triple wire mesh woven in a basket weave to create a most attractive caddy. Always very popular, these wire weave racks are often in poor condition with missing mesh, this one is all intact and in excellent condition.

Dating to around 1900, late Victorian in era. The backing measures 7" x 5 5/8" including the brass bracket; the front mesh measures 6" x 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" deep. The interior of the caddy measures approximately 5 1/2" in width.
