The box opens to reveal a fitted, ebonised interior with a replaced hand dyed writing surface with decorative gold and blind tooling. The 2 original glass ink pots with brass tops and raised crowns with a central pen tray, a lidded compartment and paper clip slope. The top slope opens to a storage compartment which conceals 3 secret drawers behind a blank mahogany facia, this is released by lifting the sprung ink pot divider.
