FJ & RD Story Antique Clocks has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The chest has 7 oak lined drawers with moulded fronts and bronzed drop handles.
The middle front section lowers on hinges to reveal a fitted document compartment.

All locks, handles and hinges are original.
The patina and finish is all original and has good finish and colour. There are obviously marks commensurate with its age, but overall it is in excellent condition as can be seen from the images.

The presentation plaque reads " Presented to Mr J Harral Barnsley 1925"
From research it appears Mr Harral owned a well known Jewellers shop in Barnsley from Victorian times through to the 1980's - hence the quality of the cabinet.
