Antique Georgian Mahogany Bow Front Corner Cupboard

19th century
Description

A magnificent antique George III mahogany and inlaid bow fronted corner hanging cupboard. Having a moulded cornice above a deep frieze inlaid with ebony and boxwood, plain and chequered stringing, centred with a shell paterae in satinwood and harewood, above two doors, the interior fitted with three shelves and two spice drawers, with ‘H’ brass hinges. It comes with working lock and key and has attractive fancy escutcheons. The doors open to reveal storage inside with a pale green painted finish. A wonderful deep colour with beautiful age and patina. Dating from circa 1790.

Good condition. Some small scuffs and marks commensurate with age. The left-hand door sticks out slightly at the top (see photo). Small split to lower left had side of door.
