Gents Recta Wrist Watch, 1950s

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 1950s Recta wrist watch, with Art Deco influence.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, signed Recta, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 25mm high excluding the unusual double lugs. The case has some marks although is respectable for its age. The case back has the mark for the British Watch Case company.

The exaggerated curve on the lens is a very handsome feature of this watch, and it gives the dial a most attractive curved appearance. The lens is in good condition with just light surface marks.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
