Antique Silver Gilt Tea Caddy Spoon & Lemon Tea Fork.

Description

19th century, cased silver gilt tea caddy spoon and lemon tea fork; each piece has a cast "Botticelli" style handle, depicting maidens, youths, dolphins and serpents. Whilst this beautiful ensemble was manufactured in Germany/Prussia prior to 1887, the exquisite case was made for it by Carringtons, King Edward VII's jewellers and silversmiths between 1901 and 1910. The Loth marking system, which this piece displays, ceased in 1887. A fine quality, and extremely charming little treasure.

German/Prussian. c.1885.
