Vintage 1940s Drott Hand Winding Wrist Watch

Description

A vintage 1940s Drott hand-winding wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around 2 - 3 minutes over a 24 hour period. The movement is stamped Drott, 15 jewels unadjusted, Swiss made.

The watch was originally made as a gents watch although it would suit a slimmer wrist and also work as a ladies watch. The watch measures 29 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and 36.6 mm high including the lugs. The stainless steel case has light surface marking from use but otherwise it is in nice condition. The case back is stamped stainless steel, Swiss made, Drott import.

The lens is in nice condition.

The dial has Swiss made at the bottom. The dial is in its original finish and has wear although it has a nicely aged look, and blued steel hands.

A new brown leather strap has been fitted.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
