Description

A charming late Victorian box in the form of a tiny little bureau or chest of drawers. The box is beautifully decorated with all over embossed decoration incorporating a pair of Cherubs on the top.

The hinged lid fits perfectly and once opened reveals a gilded interior with the bottom of the box with another embossed or repousse scene of Cherubs or Putti figures.

Both the box and lid have hallmarks with an import mark for London 1898 together with the makers mark for John George Smith.

Excellent condition, measuring 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" tall.
