Description

A vintage 1930s 9 carat gold Eros wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 22mm wide excluding the winding crown and 31mm high excluding the lugs; originally it was designed to be worn by a man but with today's fashions, it would suit a man with a slimmer wrist or it would work nicely as a lady's watch. It is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for Edinburgh 1939 with the maker's mark BWC for the British Watch Case Co. The case has minor marks but overall the condition is very acceptable for such an early piece. The convex lens is in nice condition too.

The stylised dial has a good vintage look with a hint of Art Deco design. Blued steel hands and a subsidiary seconds dial.

A later black leather strap has been fitted.
