Antique Regency Mahogany Desk Chair

19th century
Description

An Antique Regency open armchair or desk chair in mahogany dating from circa 1820. It has a bar back with carved spiral motifs. The arms supports and legs are turned and it has a drop in seat which has been newly re-upholstered in a brocade fabric with gold scrolls on a duck egg blue background.

Construction/Wood:

Mahogany

Condition Report:

Solid and sturdy. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Quite a bit of wear to the back, back legs and front legs. Some old worm holes to the seat rail which have been treated with worm killer as a precaution. Newly reupholstered.

Depth: 17.5 inches

Height to seat: 19 inches

Overall Height: 35 inches
