Antique Victorian Silver Locket 1897, and Chain

Description

A late Victorian silver locket with later rope twist chain.

The locket measures 35mm wide and 45mm high plus the loop to the top. The front of the locket is beautifully detailed in a design typical of the Victorian era. The plain case back has hallmarks for Birmingham 1897, together with a maker's mark for the Birmingham silversmith Robert Dick. The back of the locket has unevenness.

The locket hinges open to reveal another set of hallmarks.

The locket comes with a later rope twist chain which measures 71cm long.
