Description

A gents 1950s wrist watch originally retailed by J.W.Benson, London.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, with 17 jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Laco, 17 jewels.

The watch measures 33.7 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and 42.6 mm high including the lugs. The gold plated case has light surface marks from use and light wear to the edges and tips of the lugs but overall it is in nice condition for its age. The screw-on case back is stamped steel back, shockabsorber, antimagnetic and waterproof although with any vintage watch I would not rely on it being waterproof.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed J.W.Benson, London. The dial is in its original finish and has faint speckling although not over noticeable.

The watch has its original hands.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.
