Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
I think the main wood used is Kingwood & walnut, plus there are cross bandings, parquetry & inlays all over. There are also gilt metal handles & mounts. This commode is quite old, probably dating to around the 1910-20's period. I haven't had this piece polished, because it looks good enough to me, so there might be one or two very minor nicks or marks, but nothing untoward. This way I can keep the price down.
