Pair of Antique Leather & Walnut Eagle Head Armchairs

Description

Pair of antique walnut armchairs upholstered in distressed leather, with carved eagle heads on the swept out arms. These armchairs are full of character within the wood & leather. They also have a great shape, with burr walnut below the seats plus ball & claw feet. The leather is all in good condition, with no splits or tears & it's hand tacked all over. These chairs are very sturdy, comfortable & of quite small proportions (see measurements). There is a slight difference between the two chairs in height & width, but being hand made that is quite normal. I would say they date to around the 1890 period, but it's hard to be accurate, because they are a model I've never come across before.

Depth - 24", 61 cm

Height - 34.6" & 35.5", 88 cm & 90 cm
