Gents 1950s Mudu Doublematic Automatic Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 1950s MuDu Doublematic wrist watch.

The watch has a Felsa 4002 automatic movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement has had a replacement rotor, which is signed Allaine. As with many automatic watches, you can sometimes hear the rotor moving around.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated; there is a little rubbing and some surface marking but overall the condition is very acceptable for a 1950s piece. The stainless steel screw-on case back is stamped MuDu. The lens is in good condition.

The dial has a good vintage style with a mixture of raised numbers and markers, dauphine style hands and a date display. There is some light freckling.

A new brown leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
