Superb Burr Walnut Cocktail Cabinet

1900 - 1920
Description

A top quality burr walnut cocktail cabinet attributed to Beresford & Hicks of London. The burr walnut top with carved and thumb moulded edge with 2 “D” shaped cross banded and inlaid doors with decorative pierced and etched brass escutcheon plates. The doors open to reveal 2 revolving platforms with placements for 2 decanters and 49 glasses. Included are 2 acid etched and cut glass decanters and 36 matching glasses of various sizes (please note there are 13 glasses missing). Inside the top is an electric lamp which could automatically light when the doors are opened (please note this light will not be working upon delivery and will need to be checked out by a qualified electrician for safety and legal reasons). The base has a central mirrored pull-out slide for mixing drinks and a cock beaded drawer with ornate brass swan neck handles. Below is a 2 door cupboard with shelf interior and to each side are 2 further corresponding “D” shaped doors for bottles and storage. The whole standing on a superb base of carved and pierced walnut with decorative shell carving and hairy paw feet. This cabinet is top quality and fully lined with a maple interior Condition is A1.
