Superb Regency Brass-inlaid Centre Table

19th century
Description

A very fine and original early 19th REGENCY period rosewood CENTRE or HALL TABLE of lovely warm colour.

The top is "book-matched" with finely-figured rosewood, and is beautifully inlaid with a wide band of brass scrollwork all around.

It tilts upwards if required (on its original bolts) and is supported on a 'gun barrel' central column with a gilded and cast brass ornate 'collar'. This leads to quadruple "hipped" legs, applied with ormolu paterae and leading to superb original cast brass castors.

An excellent and very original centre or hall table of good warm colour and patina. 42ins (106cms) diameter.
