Antique Silver Omega Pocket Watch, 1920s

1900 - 1920
Description

An antique silver cased Omega pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Omega and it has the serial number 5,539,644 which dates it to the early 1920s. The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover.

The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the back covers for Birmingham 1924, with a maker's mark for the English watch case maker A L Dennison. The case is in good condition for its age with just minor indentations to the back, and general light surface marks.

The watch glass has minor marks but is very acceptable.

The enamel dial is signed Omega, Swiss Made. Handsome blued steel Breguet style hands, subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. There are some hairline cracks to the dial and, although visible, they do not detract from the watch too much.
