Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
A very attractive pair of high quality statement chairs they are fairly sturdy and solid and have been newly recovered in lovely soft dark brown fabric and trimmed with braid. The upholstery underneath is in fair condition and fairly firm. They have a significant number of repairs to the tops where they have split and been reglued - more evident from the back view of the chairs than on the fronts.

Condition Report:
Solid and sturdy. Quite a few mends to the top sections of both chairs - small splits where they have been re-glued (see photos) More visible to back of chairs than fronts. Newly recovered in soft dark brown fabric over the existing upholstery which is in fair condition.
