Gillows: A Mahogany Fold-over Tea Table

Description

A good quality early 19th century mahogany TEA TABLE of true "D" shape, with many attributes typical of Gillows of Lancaster.

The well figured solid top, with its reeded edges, opens to reveal the similarly well-figured interior and is supported on the double gate-leg action. The frieze, which is veneered in finest "flame" mahogany features a raised tablet to the centre, with recessed panels above each of the finely turned and reeded legs. These terminate in slender 'toupee' feet, and the table measures 36ins (91cms) wide.
