The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1940s.

The watch measures 30mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30mm high excluding the fixed lugs - it would probably be best suited to a gent with a slimmer wrist. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1945, with a maker's mark of ALD for the prolific English watch case maker A L Dennison. The case has a small 'ding' to the bezel but otherwise it is in lovely condition for a 1930s piece.

The lens is in lovely condition.
The watch has an enamel dial, signed Longines, Swiss Made. There is a hairline crack but it is not too noticeable to the naked eye. Blued steel hands, subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
A new brown leather strap has been fitted.
