Antique G Thommen Revue Full Hunter Pocket Watch

A vintage G Thommen Revue full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to around two to three minutes over 24 hours. The movement is stamped GT Revue. The Revue name was registered in 1910 by Alphonse Thommen; Alphonse took over the running of the company after the death of his father Gédéon Thommen. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The full hunter case has the manufacturer's initials GBMM (Manufacture Genevoise de Boites de Montres) together with the wording, 'double or garanti 20 jahre' which relates to the gold plated finish being guaranteed for 20 years. The case is nicely patterned, with Art Deco influence, on both the front and the back. The front has a relatively small indentation and the back has some unevenness but it is acceptable for its age. There is an indentation by the hinge (please see the close-up photo).

The plastic lens is in good condition.

The dial is quite unusual and charming in design with slightly italic numbers, plus an inner 24 hour dial with blue numbers. Breguet style hands, subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
