Victorian Silver & Cut Glass Pineapple Preserve Jar with Matching Spoon by Henry Wilkinson, Sheffield 1900

Description

This is a stunning and unusual Victorian silver novelty preserve jar in the form of a pineapple. The textured silver lid with stalk finial and slot for spoon. The matching spoon with gilt bowl and leaf finial. The heavy glass body partially incised with diamonds resembling a pineapple body.

Star cut base.

Registration/patter number impressed on inner lid.

Hallmarks on both spoon and lid:

HW&Co for Henry Wilkinson & Co.

Sheffield Assay Mark.

Duty Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "O" for 1857.

Dimensions:

Height: 13cm / 5 inches

Diameter: 7cm / 3 inches.

Condition:

Excellent.

Glass in perfect condition.

Silver lid and spoon in perfect condition.
