Large and unusual Minton Majolica figure of a lady with a jar.
This is a beautiful large Majolica figure of a classical lady sitting on a basket with flowers holding a wine or water jar. The statue was designed by Albert Ernest Carrier de Belleuse (1824-1887)for Minton between 1850/1853 (that is when he worked for Minton) but made in 1873. Albert Ernest Carriers famous student was August Rodin (The Thinker). The statue is signed A Carrier. It is marked on the base inside with the cipher for 1873 and MINTON.

Height: Approx. 28 Inches or 71 cm
Width : Base diameter 10 Inches or 25.5 cm
This is a very heavy and breakable piece, so we prefer collection by one self or a good shipper.
