A Beautifully Inlaid Sorrento Ware Occasional Table

Description

With central panel of classical figures surrounded by a border inlaid with swallows and pen-work place names including Sorrento. The outer banding is of micro-mosaic form. The table stands on 3 faux bamboo legs and is constructed from a variety of woods including satinwood, ebony, olive wood and boxwood. In good original condition having had light and sympathetic restoration. 430 mm diameter and 710 mm high. Circa 1860
