Pair Giltwood Side Chairs C.1860.

Description

Fabulous pair of mid 19th.c. high back side chairs c.1860. Of country house quality with exceptional giltwood frames with fine carved detail and retaining the original gilded finish. High backs with an upholstered top over a low nursing style seat, all with original wool work tapestry covers. On short shaped legs raised on original brass cup castors, note how the rear legs are splayed backwards for extra stability. Very good unrestored condition.
