Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1750s.
Now upholstered in pale green pastel damask with a shaped back incorporating piped edges, the arms are beautifully carved and moulded in solid mahogany, whilst the shaped seat is supported on well carved cabriole legs to the front with plainer cabriole legs to the rear. An elegant and most comfortable period armchair.
