Description

This charming little wedding rug was made by Tekke Turkmen tribes in Turkmenistan during the last quarter of the 19th century. The red field, which contains 3 vertical rows of 6 gols (tribal crests), has been dyed with cochineal. The wool is soft and silky and the rug is in very good condition.

Size: 1.02m x 1.04m (3' 4" x 3' 5").
