Vintage 1940s Gents Gebruder Veil of Zurich Wrist Watch

Description

A vintage 1940s gents Gebruder Veil of Zurich wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around 2 - 3 minutes over a 24 hour period. The movement is stamped Swiss, 15 jewels.

The watch measures 32.5 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The chrome plated case has some surface marks from use although it has a good vintage look. The case back is stamped stainless steel back, non magnetic, incabloc and waterproof although, as with any vintage watch, I would not rely on it being waterproof.

The lens is in nice condition.

The dial is signed Gebruder Veil Zurich with Swiss at the bottom. The dial is in its original finish and has speckling although it has a nicely aged look.

The watch has its original hands.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
