Staffordshire Hen on Nest Tureen Circa 1860

Description

This well-modelled and finely painted ANTIQUE STAFFORDSHIRE HEN ON NEST TUREEN dates from circa 1860.

The Hen has finely painted feathers with raised slip detail.

There is a handpainted number 99 in red on the inside of the lid.

The condition is good with only minor nicks and glaze rubs and one small, old star crack. There is no restoration.

A really colourful and lively CHICKEN which displays beautifully.
