Description

THOMAS MOSS of LONDON: a good late 18th century ebonised BRACKET CLOCK in excellent condition and in full working order.

The case features a brass-edged pad top with cast brass handle; fish-scale fret side panels; gilt brass inner slip frame to the front door; and original gilt brass ball feet.

The 8-day movement strikes hours on a bell, repeating hours at will, via the pull cord, whilst the original painted dial has "Strike/Silent" control to the arch and is complemented by the original gilded hands. The signature and number (317) is repeated, engraved on the backplate of the movement, which itself is engraved, as is the original pendulum. 15ins high; 10ins wide; 7ins deep (38 x 25.5 x 17.75cms).
