Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.

The inside has a removable liner in silver plate and the interior gilded. We managed to find a jam spoon to finish the offering.
The top of the lid is crowned by a wonderful finial in the form of a pair of crossed drumsticks leaning against a music score engraved. The folding handle incorporates a belt and buckle detailing, a very Victorian motif.

The bottom rim is where the mark for John Grinsell can be found. Excellent condition, the diameter measures 4 1/8" x 5 3/4" tall or 6 1/2" tall to top of handle whilst upright.
