Pair of Antique Wing Armchairs

1900 - 1920
Description

This pair of antique wing armchairs are very comfortable & have generous proportion. They are wide on the backs & seats, plus they sit high off the floor. These armchairs have slightly humped backs & swept out arms. I would say they date to around the 1920-30 period & they are in excellent condition. They have just been re-upholstered in a fairly neutral linen fabric with new cushions too. The front legs are beautifully hand carved with hairy paws on ball & claw feet. I always find this model the most comfortable to sit on, particularly as I have a very sensitive back. I can't quite work out the wood on the legs, but it's either mahogany or walnut.
