A very large and magnificent original antique French Baroque table clock, beautifully made in ormolu or gilt Bronze. The movement is housed in a drum supported upon outswept scrolls with mythical creatures that sit upon the integral base. To the top is a large and elaborate urn and a mythical mask above the dial.

The dial is heavily cast in bronze and is designed to be part of the front of the case with a deep convex shape. It is mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouches for the letters. Please note this type of design does not have a glass bezel.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. We have cleaned and polished the case to a very high standard in our workshop. The dial is also in excellent condition, no damage to the cartouche letters. The clock looks beautiful!

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
