Antique English Sterling Silver Napkin Ring - Chester 1898

Description

A fabulous quality Victorian sterling silver napkin ring with an all-round reticulated or pierced design incorporating a series of Tudor Rose motifs. The front has a shield shaped cartouche, vacant and could be engraved if desired by your silversmith.

There is a full English hallmark for the highly collectible assay office of Chester and the year 1898. The makers initials are also present for John Millward Banks.

The firm was established in 1863 in Birmingham with manufacturing premises at 6 Northampton Street, Birmingham and Showroom at 12, 14 Beake Street, Regent Street, London. This one as I mentioned earlier was assayed in Chester. Excellent condition, measuring 2" in diameter x 1 1/8" thick.
