A wonderful small box or jar, really looking like a smaller example of a large powder jar in this form dating to the same era.

I doubt that this would have been used for body powder, it is just too small, it is the most charming and unusual little jar.

The crystal is beautifully cut, very tactile to cut and pristine. The top is made from English sterling silver and topped with a stunning pastel green guilloche enamel showcasing the engine turned decoration below. The green in person is much more of a pastel green, the photograph shows it looking more like a turquoise green.

The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1930. Excellent condition, the box measuring 3" in diameter x 1 5/8" to top of lid knob.
