A Crystal Glass Ceiling Light

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1910-1940, this is an unusual shape crystal ceiling light with beautiful crystal drops and squares.

Around the shaped top are glass circles - see photo 1. Underneath the circles are small faceted glass squares holding angular lustres, circling the outside bag shape around the lightbulb. The whole light is made of glass, including the original ceiling fitting - see photo 2.

The light has been rewired for the UK with a single standard lightbulb fitting inside. It has proved difficult to photograph because light bounces around the drops reflecting the surrounding colour, so we have had to darken the images to allow the lovely assortment of shapes to be seen.

The measurements are approximately 49cm in length from the ceiling fitting to the base not taking any chain length into account, and it measures 32cm at the widest part. It is a fine quality light.

The light can be viewed and collected from us in Surrey by appointment, or we can arrange for it to be sent out either with Parcelforce or via a courier within the UK mainland. For delivery elsewhere, please contact us to discuss options and for a quote.
