A Stunning Quality Kingwood & Marquetry Victorian Period Bureau Plat

Description

A Stunning kingwood & marquetry ormolu mounted Victorian Period bureau plat. Having a top of serpentine outline with a cast ormolu moulded edge with an inset pale green leather writing surface. Having a wonderful floral marquetry border inlaid onto a sycamore ground with exquisite pen-work detail. The front sides and reverse with similar stunning marquetry and pen-work inlaid detail with a kingwood veneered border and having an oak lined frieze drawer. Supported on elegant kingwood cabriole supports with wonderful quality cast ormolu mounts. Firmly attributable to Gillows of Lancaster.English in the French taste circa 1860

Dimensions: 50" wide x 25" deep x 29" high

Condition: This bureau plat is in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed
